💡 Overtrading: A Trap Even for Experienced Traders

Many believe that frequent trades are a sign of activity and confidence. But in reality, overtrading often becomes the main reason for account drawdowns — even among experienced traders.

📌 What is overtrading?
It’s making too many trades without a clear trading logic. Most often, it happens because of the desire to “recover a loss” or the fear of missing out on a move.

⚠️ Why is it dangerous?
🟠Increases trading costs (spreads, commissions).
🟠Leads to emotional burnout.
🟠Reduces the quality of analysis — decisions are made emotionally.
🟠Profitable trades end up being canceled out by unnecessary losing ones.

✅ How to avoid it?
🟢Clear trading plan — don’t enter the market without a specific signal.
🟢Trade limit — for example, no more than 2–3 per day.
🟢Keep a trading journal — it reveals when emotions take control.
🟢Focus on quality, not quantity — one strong trade is better than ten random ones.

💧 Liquidity

🧲 Liquidity is the ability to buy or sell an asset without causing a sharp change in price. In practice, it’s the resting orders sitting in the market: stop losses, limit buys, limit sells. These orders are the fuel — without them, no trend, no breakout, no market can exist.

↗️ When liquidity is high, price moves smoothly, spreads stay tight, and execution is efficient.
📉 When liquidity is low, the opposite happens: spreads widen, slippage increases, and even small trades can cause sharp spikes.

⚡️ ICT perspective:

🟠ICT (Inner Circle Trader) teaches that price is always drawn toward liquidity pools:
🟠Buy-side liquidity above highs (clusters of buy stops).
🟠Sell-side liquidity below lows (clusters of sell stops).
🟠Liquidity grabs (or stop hunts) when price sweeps one side, collects orders, and then moves in the opposite direction.

🕯 How to use this in your trading?

1️⃣Mark liquidity pools — equal highs/lows, clean ranges, round numbers. These are magnets for price.

2️⃣Wait for the sweep — when price runs liquidity (e.g., breaks a prior high) and rejects, it often signals the real move is starting in the opposite direction.

3️⃣Time your entries — focus on active sessions (London/NY overlap), when liquidity is deepest and moves are most reliable.

4️⃣Build confluence — combine liquidity concepts with market structure (BOS, CHoCH) to filter high-probability setups.
